Blade Runner 2049

Quite often, movies feel incomplete. Usually it’s something like a lack of narrative substance or over-reliance on CGI effects that can spoil the overall experience. It’s rare for a film to feel perfect in all respects, but Blade Runner 2049 did to me. I didn’t expect it to either.

I don’t want to say too much and give away spoilers, but over the course of 2 hrs 43 mins I was captivated. I love that it’s pace is slow, it doesn’t feel the need to try and keep audience interest up with regular explosions or fast editing. Instead it tells a story in it’s own sweet time, and I was totally drawn into this world. The cinematography, story, music, visuals, sound design - everything was incredible. Truly a highlight of the year.
