In order to give instructional and error messages in more human way, Hicksdesign created a series of Norwegian Troll characters for use in the Opera browser. These helped with tasks such as the Mac OS X Installer background, where the user needs to drag and drop the application into the system application folder. Such an image can’t use text without creating a lot of translation work, so the image shows the trolls demonstrating the task.
Other illustrations were created for hibernation mode, link expired and plugin crashed.
